How to add video to your Linkedin profile

linkedinWdpVIdeoWindowLinkedin continues to be one of the strongest ways to build your business or personal connections.  New features are always being added and it’s important to check your profile frequently to see what the newest offerings are.  What many people don’t know is you can have videos play directly on your profiles.  There’re an array of ways to accomplish this but our favorite and easiest way is with YouTube and Google.
The steps are pretty straight forward.  You’ll need the following:
1.    A video on YouTube
2.    A Google account (you do know they’re free, right?)
Log into Linkedin and click “edit profile”
Scroll down until you see “Applications” and click the blue “Add and application” text

You’ll be taken to a page with a variety of powerful add-ins but you want to find and select the Google Presentation button.GooglePresButton

A blank slide will show up along with many of the options you’ll find in PowerPoint but for the purpose of this post, you want to click the “insert” drop down tab and select “Video”

A YouTube window will pop up where you can now navigate to your uploaded video clip.

Once you select the clip, you’ll see it pop up on the slide where you can then size it appropriately.  You can now also add supporting text, call to actions, additional slides, etc., just like a traditional PowerPoint presentation.

Congratulations, you’ve just successfully embedded video into your Linkedin profile.  Now if you don’t have video content to upload, that’s where we come in.  Call today to learn how we can help you grow your business with video.
